Conductivity and pH measurement

Water analysis technology - precise, reliable, connected

Monitoring and improving water quality is crucial for numerous applications in water treatment, wastewater treatment, industrial process control and environmental monitoring.

Sensors play an important role and enable precise, continuous and reliable monitoring of water quality. For example, our CONDIX and PHIX sensors are particularly suitable for reverse osmosis systems for the treatment of landfill leachate or process water monitoring or for waste gas purification in chemical production plants.

Application areas with CONDIX and PHIX

In fresh water monitoring and water treatment systems, such as reverse osmosis and ion exchange systems, ultrapure water and pharmaceutical applications, sea/black water treatment on ships and leachate landfills, electronic devices and digital interfaces enable continuous monitoring of conductivity, temperature and pH or RedOx values. This ensures precise recording of the current water condition and enables proactive maintenance measures to be carried out in good time in order to reliably check system efficiency.

Reverse osmosis

Reverse osmosis

Reverse osmosis describes a process by which undesirable substances that have dissolved in a liquid are reduced to a tolerable level with the help of pressure and permeation. In the case described here, a reverse osmosis system is used to treat landfill leachate so that it can be discharged directly into the environment in compliance with the relevant limit values.

Conductivity is the leading parameter of the reverse osmosis system which is used to determine the ion concentration and thus the contamination. The conductivity value is used in the reverse osmosis process to record the quality of the raw water, monitor the purification performance and control the purification phases.

Senseca contributes to a smooth process with the CONDIX digital conductivity transmitter and the MULTICON-H multi-channel controller, which integrates up to 6 sensors in one system or plant.

Water analysis

Water analysis

A gas scrubber, also known as a scrubber, is a device used to clean exhaust gases from industrial processes by removing harmful particles and gases. Contaminated gas is fed into the scrubber, where it comes into contact with a scrubbing liquid. This absorbs or reacts with the pollutants in the gas. After the reaction or absorption, the liquid droplets containing the contaminants are removed in the droplet separator. The purified gas is discharged from the scrubber and can then be safely released into the environment.

pH sensors measure the acidity and alkalinity of the scrubbing liquid in the scrubbing liquid inlet, the liquid reservoir and the liquid outlet.
Conductivity sensors measure the electrical conductivity of the scrubbing liquid.

By combining them with the CONDIX conductivity transmitter and the PHIX pH/ORP transmitter at the critical points, scrubbers can work more efficiently and improve the quality of the scrubbing liquid by continuously monitoring and controlling it.

Our product highlights

Multichannel Sensor-Controller MULTICON-H

The MULTICON is a multi-channel sensor controller that integrates up to 6 sensors into a system or plant. The MULTICON offers automatic detection and Ethernet connectivity via the PROFINET protocol. This ensures the digital transmission of process, diagnostic and identification data to the control and automation system in an integrated IIoT solution for service and QM management.

ph/Redox (ORP)-Transmitter PHIX

PHIX is a digital transmitter that is mounted on pH or redox electrodes and converts a high-impedance, analog signal into a digital, interference-free value. The connection is manufacturer-independent, with standard VarioPin or coaxial connectors. PHIX offers a guided 1- or 2-point calibration with storage of the last 5 calibration results.

Digital conductivity transmitter CONDIX

The CONDIX conductivity transmitter is directly and digitally integrated into the fieldbus level via the universal Modbus interface. This means that all levels up to the higher-level system can be integrated with a single bus cable, significantly reducing installation costs.
