Digital pH and ORP converter for combined electrodes with S7/S8 or VarioPin head, -1...+15 pH and -1500...+1500mV range, RS485 Modbus RTU, IP67 housing and calibration logging.

Introduction

Digital integration makes pH and ORP measuring points easier to commission, monitor and maintain. PHIX screws directly onto combined electrodes with S7/S8 or VarioPin connection head and provides pH or ORP values via RS485 with Modbus RTU protocol.
 
The converter reduces cabling effort by using standard electrode heads instead of complex special cables. It records process values, identification data and diagnostic data, including process temperature with integrated Pt1000, glass impedance, internal temperature and system power. Glass impedance helps indicate contamination, short circuit, breakage or the presence of the sensor chain.
 
Maintenance becomes more transparent through guided 1- or 2-point calibration, manual input of zero point and slope, and storage of up to 5 calibration results with timestamps. Operating hours and temperature- and pH-related operating times support sensor stress evaluation, while SENSware and MULTICON enable parameterization and calibration.

Electrode connections

PHIX is available for combined electrodes with S7/S8 plug or VarioPin (VP) plug connection heads.

Measured values

The converter records pH or ORP as the main value and can also record process temperature with electrodes that include Pt1000.

Calibration functions

Guided 1-point and 2-point calibration routines are available, with manual entry of zero point and slope.

Operating hours log

 The device records total operating time as well as temperature- and pH-related operating times.

Communication interface

The interface uses RS485, Half-Duplex with Modbus RTU protocol and selectable baud rates from 1200 to 19200.

Status indication

Optical signaling shows supply voltage, bus communication and addressing status through LEDs.

Parameterization

Configuration and calibration are carried out via SENSware, MULTICON-H or Modbus RTU.

Housing design

 The PVC-U housing with PMMA window uses an 8-pole round plug and has ingress protection IP67.
