Conductivity Converter

UNICON-LF

Conductivity converter for liquid measurement, covering 0..5.00 μS/cm to 0..500.0 mS/cm, with 4..20 mA conductivity output, LCD display, alarm outputs and IP65 head or field case.

Introduction

Reliable liquid conductivity monitoring starts with a converter that can adapt to different purity and concentration tasks. UNICON-LF measures conductivity in liquids with 4-electrode conductivity cells for high accuracy and reduced sensitivity to contamination. For ultra-pure water, it works with a special 2-electrode cell.

Programmable ranges cover 0..5.00 μS/cm to 0..500.0 mS/cm, or 0..0.500 μS/cm with an ultra-pure water cell. Temperature compensation is selectable for natural water, ultra-pure water or linear media behavior from 0.000..8.000 %/°C, helping match the measurement to the liquid.

For integration and operation, the family offers 4..20 mA conductivity output, electronic alarm outputs and optional temperature output with a second conductivity range. Head and field mounting versions, an LCD dot-matrix display and ingress protection (IP) IP65 housing support use in industrial liquid measurement tasks.

Features

Local configuration

Parameters are set via the front keyboard and shown on a two-line LCD dot-matrix display. Program lockout and EEPROM write protection are available.

Conductivity measurement

The converter measures conductivity as an indicator of liquid purity or concentration and can operate with 4-electrode conductivity cells or special 2-electrode ultra-pure water cells.

Adjustable measuring ranges

The conductivity range, unit and decimal position are adjustable. A second conductivity measuring range is available depending on the selected model.

Temperature compensation

The device provides non-linear compensation for natural and ultra-pure water, or linear compensation with a programmable coefficient for other liquid media.

Analog outputs

The family provides a 4..20 mA conductivity output. Depending on the model, a 4..20 mA temperature output is also available.

Alarm functions

Two electronic alarm outputs can be assigned to conductivity or temperature functions. With option 14, alarm functions can also be assigned to USP<645> monitoring.

Temperature measurement

RTD Pt100 or Pt1000 sensors can be used for temperature measurement, with °C or °F selectable in the configuration.

Mounting versions

The family includes head mounting directly on the cell and field mounting with a separate connection cable. A field version with stainless steel plug is also listed.
