Temperature transmitter for process temperature monitoring up to +500°C

Thermocont TS4S

Temperature transmitter for process temperature measurement in gases, vapors, liquids and dusts, with Pt100 class A sensor, -99.9°C...+500°C range options, up to 100 bar process pressure, display, 4...20 mA and PNP outputs.

Introduction

Continuous temperature measurement becomes more useful when the transmitter also gives operators a clear local view of the process. This electronic temperature transmitter measures temperatures in gases, vapors, liquids and dusts, with process ranges up to -99.9°C...+500°C and pressure tightness up to 100 bar depending on the selected version.

A Pt100 class A sensor according to DIN EN 60751 provides long-term stable measurement. For higher process confidence, the self-supervising version combines a Pt100 with a semiconductor sensor for drift monitoring and redundancy. If the set drift limit is exceeded, the device signals the condition immediately instead of waiting for the next calibration cycle.

The integrated electronics provide a high-brightness LED display, function LEDs, 3-key operation, optional 4...20 mA current output and PNP switching functions in one robust CrNi-steel enclosure. Rotatable housing and display alignment support comfortable operation in any installation position, while ingress protection (IP65/IP67) suits industrial process environments.

Features

Temperature transmitter function

The device continuously measures temperatures in gases, vapors, liquids and dusts and converts the measured value into an electrical output signal.

Measuring systems

Versions include a Pt100-A resistance sensor and a self-supervising system with Pt100-A and semiconductor sensor.

Process connections

Available connections include compression fitting version, G½"B thread, G¼"B thread and G½"B front-flush gasket versions.

Current output

The 4...20 mA output can be assigned to the selected measuring range, inverted to 20...4 mA and configured with error current behavior.

Switching functions

PNP switch outputs are available for limit monitoring and can be configured with hysteresis or window function.

Display and menu

The LED display shows the measuring value and menu. The unit can be set to °C, °K or °F, with normal or 180° rotated view.

Process materials

Process-wetted parts are made from steel 1.4404/316L or 1.4571/316Ti, with surface quality Ra < 0.8µm.
