Reliable pressure measurement starts at the measuring point, especially when the medium is demanding or the area requires Ex-compatible equipment. The MSD family connects to compatible GMH handheld instruments and measures absolute or relative pressure in air, aggressive gases, aggressive media and water.
A broad range of variants covers low pressure, absolute pressure and overpressure tasks, with measuring ranges from 0 ... 1000 mbar abs. to 0 ... 1000 bar rel. depending on the model. Stainless steel wetted parts support use with aggressive media and water, while the integrated PC board stores sensor data such as measuring range and calibration data directly in the housing.
The IP 67 rated sensor housing, typical accuracy of ±0.2%FS for hysteresis and linearity, and available Ex-protected versions make the family a practical choice for field pressure checks where reliable readings, media compatibility and handheld operation matter.
BAE models measure absolute pressure in ranges such as 0 ... 1000 mbar abs., 0 ... 2500 mbar abs., 0 ... 4000 mbar abs. and 0 ... 6000 mbar abs.; special ranges refer to the type plate.
RE models measure overpressure across multiple ranges, from low pressure versions such as 0.0 ... 400.0 mbar rel. up to high pressure versions reaching 0 ... 1000 bar rel.
The sensors connect to compatible GMH handheld instruments via the specified cable connection. Ex versions use an M12 plug with MSD-K31-ex connection cable.
A PC board with amplifier and data memory for measuring data and calibration data is integrated in the sensor housing.
Ex versions use a G1/4 pressure connection with key width 27 mm. Non-Ex stainless steel versions use a G1/2B connection thread.
The housing is made of stainless steel, specified as CrNi steel or Elgiloy, with a sensor weight of 220 g.
Higher probe accuracy is available by multi-point calibration on non-Ex versions, with additional linearization points stored in sensor memory.
