Introduction

Moisture in bales, grain stores and wood chip stocks is rarely uniform. These injection probes help you check several points directly in the material, giving practical decision support for storage, fuel quality and harvesting work.

The family covers GSF 40, GSF 40TF, GSF 50, GSF 50K, GSF 50TF and GSF 50TFK versions. GSF 40 is suited to pressed straw, hay bales and grain, with a slim 67.3 cm long probe and 60 cm measuring depth (standard, other lengths available). GSF 50 is optimized for wood chips and also measures splints, insulation material, straw and hay in bulk material, bales and similar applications.

All versions use resistive material moisture measurement and connect to a compatible display, such as GMH 3830 / -50, via BNC. TF versions add an integrated thermocouple type K sensor in the probe tip for temperature-compensated measurement with a suitable instrument.

Practical stock checks

Features

Resistive moisture measurement

The probes measure electrical resistance in compressed material. Good contact and steady pressure during measurement are required for meaningful results.

Probe versions

The family includes GSF 40, GSF 40TF, GSF 50, GSF 50K, GSF 50TF and GSF 50TFK versions for different material and handling requirements.

Display connection

A compatible display instrument must be connected for operation (e.g. GMH 3830 / -50).

Integrated temperature sensor

TF versions include an insulated thermocouple type K sensor in the probe tip. The sensor requires adjustment time in the material.

Material selection

The connected measuring device uses material groups or curve data. The correct wood group or material type must be selected before measuring.

Field measurement method

For wood chips, measurements can be taken in containers, silos, chip bunkers and loose bulk material, with repeated readings averaged for a more representative result.
