Quantity processes in automation often need one device that can count, scale and monitor signals directly in the panel. UZ9648 is designed for process control and automation tasks including counting, length measurement, metering and positioning.
Two digital input channels support summation and subtraction, with programmable count direction and separate prescalers for each channel. Display conversion with programmable divisor and factor adapts the shown value to the application, for example for flow or length measurement. The integrated 24 V DC or 8 V DC transmitter supply allows direct connection of PNP initiators, light barriers, mechanical switch contacts, proximity switches, rotary encoders and Namur initiators.
Up to 4 relay or transistor alarm outputs can be configured as minimum or maximum function, continuous contact or pulse contact. An isolated 0/4 ... 20 mA or 0/2 ... 10 V analog output is available for forwarding the display value to control systems.
The device supports configurable input functions for channel A and B, including up/down counting, summation, subtraction and rotary encoder operation.
Separate prescalers for input A and input B define that only every nth pulse is counted, allowing pulse input behavior to be matched to the application.
A programmable divisor and factor convert counted pulses into application values. Up to 3 decimal places can be configured for the display.
The counter can operate as a linear counter across -99999 ... 999999 digits or as a ring counter between a start value and an end value.
The integrated transmitter supply provides 24 V DC for PNP sensors and 8 V DC for Namur sensors. It is also suitable for connected light barriers, proximity switches and rotary encoders.
Alarm outputs can be set as continuous or pulse contacts, with minimum or maximum switching behavior and programmable switching time.
The optional isolated analog output provides 0/4 ... 20 mA or 0/2 ... 10 V DC, with programmable start and end values and load-dependent signal switching.
The configuration includes lock settings for the configuration level, all parameters or analog output calibration settings.
