Universal transmitter

UT125

Universal transmitter for converting standard signals, Pt100, thermocouples and potentiometers into 4..20 mA, with DIP-switch configuration, Pt100 fault monitoring and 12.5 mm TS35 rail housing.

Introduction

One compact transmitter can simplify cabinet planning when different input signals need the same output format. This universal transmitter converts standard signals, temperatures and potentiometer positions into a 4..20 mA current signal for further processing in control or monitoring systems.

The measuring input is configured via front-side DIP switches for 0/2..10 V, 0/4..20 mA, Pt100, thermocouples Type J, K and S, or potentiometers with a rated value from 500 Ω..20 kΩ. Linearized temperature ranges and an analog output with max. 400 Ω burden support straightforward signal conversion in cabinet applications.

With a housing width of only 12.5 mm, the UT125 helps save space on the TS35 carrier rail. Versions are available with 24 V DC supply, 24 V DC with carrier rail bus connection, or wide-range supply from 20..125 V DC and 20..250 V AC. For Pt100 inputs, sensor break and short-circuit monitoring drive the analog output to approx. 0 mA.

Features

Universal input selection

DIP switches select current, voltage, potentiometer, Pt100 or thermocouple input. Simultaneous voltage and current input adds the related input signals.

Analog current output

The device actuates a 4..20 mA actual value output according to the selected measuring range.

Temperature linearization

Pt100 and thermocouple measuring ranges are linearized for conversion into the analog output signal.

Potentiometer input

The resistance input supports 3-wire potentiometers with a rated value from 500 Ω..20 kΩ and uses an internal reference voltage of approx. 1.5 V.

Power supply versions

Versions are available for 24 V DC, 24 V DC with carrier rail bus connection, or wide-range supply of 20..125 V DC and 20..250 V AC.

Power Rail option

The UT125LP version allows the power supply of multiple devices to be concentrated in the TS35 carrier rail bus system.

Terminal options

The housing uses removable coded screw terminals as standard. Push-in spring terminals are available as an option.
