Universal transmitter for Pt100 or Pt1000 RTD signal conversion, with switch-selectable measuring ranges, 0/4..20 mA and 0/2..10 V outputs, 3-port isolation and 22.5 mm DIN rail housing.

Introduction

RTD signals are easier to standardize when range selection, isolation and output conversion sit in one compact transmitter. This universal transmitter accepts Pt100 or Pt1000 field signals, filters and isolates them, then converts them into industry-standard outputs for process control systems.
 
The MU500 provides switch-selectable measuring ranges, with 13 ranges for Pt100 and 16 ranges for Pt1000. Offset and end value are adjustable, helping adapt the signal to the application. It supports 2-wire or 3-wire sensor connection, with automatic cable resistance compensation in 3-wire configuration and offset adjustment for 2-wire compensation.
 
Linearized current and voltage outputs are available as 0/4..20 mA and 0/2..10 V, with simultaneous operation supported. Full 3-port isolation separates input, output and supply voltage, while supply options from 85..265 V AC/110..125 V DC or 10..30 V AC/10..42 V DC help reduce variant complexity.

Features

RTD input versions

Device versions are available for Pt100 with 13 measuring ranges or Pt1000 with 16 measuring ranges.

Switch-selectable ranges

Temperature range and output configuration are selected using DIP and rotary switches on the front panel.

Analog outputs

Current output can be set to 0..20 mA or 4..20 mA. Voltage output can be set to 0..10 V or 2..10 V.

Sensor connection

The input supports 2-wire and 3-wire RTD connection. In 3-wire configuration, cable resistance is compensated automatically.

Offset and span adjustment

Offset and end value can be adjusted on the device, including offset compensation for 2-wire cable resistance.

Supply voltage options

Supply versions cover 85..265 V AC/110..125 V DC or 10..30 V AC/10..42 V DC.

Fault behavior

If the sensor line is broken or shorted, the output rises to the maximum output value.

DIN rail housing

The compact polycarbonate housing mounts on TS35/TH35 DIN rail and uses screw terminals with pressure plates.
