Class C pyranometer for global solar irradiance monitoring

LPS03

Pyranometer for global solar irradiance monitoring, measuring 200…4000 W/m2 across 300…2800 nm. Spectrally Flat Class C with thermopile sensor, IP 67 housing and model-dependent Modbus, analog or mV output.

Introduction

Solar monitoring projects often need reliable irradiance data without unnecessary complexity. This series measures global irradiance on a flat surface, including direct and diffuse solar irradiance, for research, meteorology and PV monitoring.

The thermopile sensor covers a 200…4000 W/m2 measuring range and 300…2800 nm spectral range. Spectrally Flat Class C classification according to ISO 9060:2018, WMO compliance and factory calibration according to ISO 9847:2023 give users a practical basis for traceable solar radiation measurements.

Outdoor installation is designed to be straightforward. The integrated bubble level supports accurate horizontal positioning, while IP 67 protection, anodized aluminum housing, ASA screen and optical glass dome help the pyranometer operate in exposed environments. Depending on the model, integration is available via RS485 Modbus-RTU, configurable analog output, 2-wire 4…20 mA or passive mV.

Features

Thermopile sensor

The series uses a thermopile sensor with a black matt coated sensitive surface to measure global irradiance on a flat surface in W/m2.

Digital diagnostics

LPS03Mxx models include internal temperature, relative humidity and pressure sensors. Tilt monitoring is available on models with option T.

Configurable analog output

LPS03MAx models provide a configurable analog output with 4…20 mA default, plus 0…20 mA, 0…1 V, 0…5 V or 0…10 V options.

Software configuration

DATAsense PC software supports Modbus parameter setup, analog output range configuration, real-time monitoring and saving measured values to a file.

Installation design

The housing includes an integrated bubble level and M5 fixing holes. Optional brackets support mast mounting or inclined installation.

Calibration report

Each pyranometer is factory calibrated according to ISO 9847:2023 (Type A1) and supplied with an individual calibration report.
