Existing photometric probes can become part of a digital monitoring network without changing the sensing principle. LPPHOTS converts the mV analog signal from LPPHOT illuminance probes into an RS485 digital signal with Modbus-RTU protocol, supporting reliable transmission to PLCs, data loggers or acquisition systems.
The transmitter is designed for wall mounting and field installation. Screw terminals under the top cover simplify connection of power, RS485 and the mV probe input, while the IP66 housing supports use in demanding installation environments. The measuring range with LPPHOT probes is 0…150,000 lux, with 10 lux resolution.
Commissioning is straightforward through configurable RS485 parameters. Address, baud rate, transmission mode and receiving mode can be set before connection to the Modbus network. If the connected probe is replaced, its sensitivity can be entered in µV/klux, keeping the transmitter matched to the individual calibration of the illuminance probe.
The transmitter provides non-isolated RS485 output with Modbus-RTU protocol for illuminance data transmission.
LPPHOTS accepts the mV analog signal generated by LPPHOT illuminance probes through dedicated screw terminals.
Modbus input registers provide illuminance in lux/10, status register, average illuminance from the last 4 measures and input signal value in µV.
RS485 address, baud rate, transmission mode and receiving mode can be configured through serial commands.
RS485 devices are connected through a twisted-pair shielded cable for signals and a third wire for ground, with terminations at both ends of each segment.
The transmitter is specified for use with LPPHOT01, LPPHOT02 and LPPHOT03 illuminance probes.
