Air speed transmitter for HVAC and duct monitoring

HD29

Air speed transmitter for HVAC and duct monitoring, measuring 0.05…20 m/s plus optional -10…+60 °C temperature and 0…100% RH, with 4…20 mA, 0…10 V or RS485 output.

Introduction

Airflow control depends on stable, correctly positioned measurement points. HD29 transmitters measure air speed and, depending on the model, temperature and relative humidity for HVAC, BEMS, clean rooms, industrial facilities, museums, pharmaceutical environments and other ventilation monitoring tasks.

Installation adapts to the duct and enclosure layout. Fixed horizontal probes suit streamlined duct mounting, while cable-connected probes offer flexibility in complex setups. The stainless steel probe stem, engraved depth scale and airflow orientation reference support correct positioning, with IP65 protection for the transmitter housing.

The series integrates into both analog and digital systems. Models are available with active 4…20 mA, 0…10 Vdc or RS485 output using Modbus-RTU or ASCII proprietary protocol. Analog versions offer selectable speed ranges up to 20 m/s, while digital models cover 0.05…20 m/s and provide 0.01 m/s speed resolution.

Precise airflow data
Measures 0.05…20 m/s, with 0.01 m/s resolution on HD29S digital models.

System-ready outputs
Choose active 4…20 mA, 0…10 Vdc or RS485 Modbus-RTU output by model.

Features

Probe configurations

The series offers fixed duct horizontal probes and probes with M16 connector and cable. Stem lengths vary by measured quantities and probe type.

Sensor technologies

Air speed is measured with a thermal thin-film sensor. Temperature uses an NTC sensor, and relative humidity versions use a capacitive sensor.

Response time selection

Analog models use a Fast/Slow jumper for 0.2 s or 2 s response. HD29S models offer a configurable filtering factor for air speed measurement.

Analog range setup

HD29A and HD29V models allow the air speed range associated with the analog output to be selected by dip switches.

Digital measurement data

HD29S models can output air speed, temperature, relative humidity, dew point, absolute humidity, wet bulb temperature and error status via RS485.

Mounting accessories

Ø 12 mm and Ø 14 mm probes can be fixed to ducts using compatible wall flanges or AISI304 cable glands.
