Hotwire air speed transmitters for ventilation ducts

HD403TS / HD4V3TS

Hotwire air speed transmitters for ventilation ducts, measuring 0.1…5.00 m/s or 0.20…40.0 m/s with directional or omnidirectional probes and 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc output.

Introduction

Air speed control in ventilation ducts, clean rooms and extractor fans needs transmitters that are easy to integrate and quick to commission. These active hotwire air speed transmitters measure air speed for ventilation control, indoor air quality monitoring and related clean-air applications.

Two probe concepts and two measuring ranges cover different installation needs. Directional probe models measure 0.20…40.0 m/s, while omnidirectional probe models measure 0.1…5.00 m/s. The transmitters are factory calibrated and require no further adjustments, helping reduce setup time on site.

Integration is kept simple through dedicated output families: HD403TS… provides 4…20 mA, while HD4V3TS… provides 0…10 Vdc. A jumper-selectable response time lets the installer choose 0.2 s FAST response or 2.0 s SLOW response for turbulent conditions, and the IP67 electronics housing supports demanding installations.

Features

Hotwire measurement

The transmitters use a hotwire sensor in directional or omnidirectional probe versions.

Output families

HD403TS… models provide 4…20 mA output, while HD4V3TS… models provide 0…10 Vdc output.

Probe variants

Available probe types include directional, omnidirectional, flexible directional and omnidirectional with tripod.

Clean-air operation

The probes are intended for clean air with relative humidity below 80%.

Electrical connection

Power and output are connected through +Vcc, GND and VEL terminals using a three-wire cable.

Electronics housing

The electronics are housed in a 60 x 66 x 35 mm IP67 case with PG7 cable glands.
