Thermal processes need a defined safe state when temperatures move beyond the permitted range or when the monitoring chain develops a fault. This safety temperature limiter monitors the temperature limit and switches off without delay if the limit is reached or if errors such as sensor break, sensor short-circuit, software fault or inadmissible supply voltage occur.
The device can operate as STB, ASTB or STW, supporting maximum or minimum monitoring with or without hold. It is certified according to DIN EN 61508 SIL2 and DIN EN ISO 13849 PL d, and approved for DIN EN 14597 applications. Inputs cover Pt100 in 3-wire connection and double thermocouples Type J, K, N and S.
For clear diagnostics, errors are shown in plain text on the 128 x 64 pixel graphic LCD with white backlight, and the last fault is stored. A safety-relevant SPDT main relay, pre-alarm relay, galvanically isolated analog output and 24 V DC external alarm signal support integration into safety-related control systems.
The device can be configured as STB, ASTB or STW for maximum or minimum monitoring.
Input versions support Pt100 3-wire connection or double thermocouples Type J, K, N and S.
Temperature limit value and switching hysteresis are programmable from the front-side buttons.
STB mode uses manual reset after fault elimination via the front button or an external button. STW resets automatically.
The last fault is stored as plain text and can be viewed and deleted on the working level.
Password protection restricts access to safety-related configuration settings.
