Reliable rainfall data starts with a stable mechanical measurement point. RTD02 gives meteorological and environmental monitoring systems a compact tipping bucket rain gauge with 200 cm² collecting area, designed according to WMO-No. 8 recommendations.
The calibrated bucket generates an electrical pulse at each tip, allowing rainfall to be recorded by a data logger or pulse counter. Digital and analog versions can store correction curves in the instrument, supporting accuracy of < ± 2% up to 200 mm/h when correction is applied. Resolutions of 0.1, 0.2 or 0.5 mm/tip let the model fit different monitoring needs.
Built from anodized and painted aluminum alloy, RTD02 is made for long-term outdoor use with ingress protection (IP65). A removable inlet filter and non-stick collector cone support routine cleaning, while heated versions extend operation to -25…+70 °C with automatic heating around +4 °C.
Rainwater from the collector cone flows into a calibrated bucket. Each tip empties the bucket and generates an electrical pulse for counting rainfall.
The series includes voltage-free NC contact, RS485, SDI-12, MOSFET Open Drain, 4…20 mA and 0…10 V versions, depending on the selected model.
Digital and analog models include temperature, humidity, pressure and tilt sensors for monitoring instrument and environmental conditions.
Heated versions use a 24 Vdc ± 10% heater supply. Digital and analog models use PID control, while contact-output models use ON/OFF control.
The rain gauge mounts on a Ø40…60 mm mast and includes an integrated bubble level for correct alignment of the tipping mechanism.
A removable filter in the collector inlet helps prevent clogging and supports periodic cleaning of the rain path.
