High sound level measurements demand a microphone chain that can handle intense acoustic pressure without losing traceability in the instrument setup. MP802 is the preamplifier used with the MC802 ¼" pressure measurement microphone in the MS802 microphone set, extending XPT800-H and XPT801-H configurations up to 178 dBpeak.
The preamplifier supports Sensor Digital Interface, allowing the sound level meter to work with automatic model identification and calibration data handling. Together with the MC802 microphone, it forms a compact ¼" pressure microphone chain for applications where standard ½" microphone sets reach their upper limit.
For acoustic professionals working in industrial noise, product testing or other high-level acoustic tasks, MP802 adds range flexibility while keeping the measurement chain aligned with the XPT800 and XPT801 platform. The associated MC802 microphone is specified to IEC 61094-4 WS4P, with 0.56 mV/Pa sensitivity and a 10 Hz–20 kHz frequency range.
MP802 includes SDI for communication with compatible XPT sound level meters, supporting instrument recognition of the connected microphone chain.
The preamplifier is specified for use with the MC802 ¼" pressure measurement microphone with a 0.56 mV/Pa sensitivity. The mechanical adaptor MP80-MA is included, allowing 1/4" microphones to be connected to the 1/2" threaded connector.
In the MS802 microphone set, the MP802 and MC802 combination provides a dynamic range from 65 dBA to 178 dBpeak.
MP802 is included in XPT800-H and XPT801-H configurations for high sound level measurements.
With the MC802 microphone, the microphone set covers 10 Hz–20 kHz for pressure measurement applications.
