Radiometric probe for UVC irradiance measurement from 0…200 mW/cm², with peak response at 260 nm, mV output, individual calibration and 5 m cable for indoor monitoring.

Introduction

UVC monitoring needs a narrow, dedicated response, especially when visible and infrared light must not affect the measurement. LPUVC01 measures irradiance in the UVC spectral range and is blind to visible and infrared light, supporting focused indoor radiometric monitoring.
 
The probe keeps the measurement chain simple. It works without an external power supply: light reaching the photodiode generates a current, which is converted into a potential difference and read with a suitable voltmeter. The measured value is calculated using the calibration factor marked on the probe housing.
 
With a measuring range of 0…200 mW/cm², peak response at 260 nm, FWHM 32 nm and calibration accuracy below 10%, LPUVC01 gives technical users a compact probe for UVC measurement. The Ø 30 mm x 38 mm housing and 5 m cable support straightforward integration into indoor measurement setups.

Photodiode measurement principle

The photodiode generates current when exposed to light, and the internal resistor converts this current into a potential difference for voltmeter reading.

UVC spectral response

The probe measures irradiance in the UVC region with peak response at 260 nm and FWHM 32 nm.

Direct voltage output

The output is read as a potential difference and converted into irradiance using the calibration factor marked on the probe.

Calibration method

Calibration is carried out by measuring irradiance from an Hg lamp at 254 nm.

Electrical reading

The probe output must be read with a digital multimeter with internal resistance >100 kΩ.

Signal conversion option

The output signal can be converted to 4…20 mA or 0…10 Vdc using compatible HD978TR series converters.
