Illuminance transmitter for RS485 MODBUS-RTU light monitoring

LPPHOT01S

Illuminance transmitter for RS485 MODBUS-RTU light monitoring, converting LPPHOT01 mV signals across 0...10,000 lux or 0...150,000 lux with IP66 wall-mount housing.

Introduction

Light monitoring becomes easier to network when the probe signal is converted close to the measurement point. LPPHOT01S converts the mV analog signal from the LPPHOT01 illumination probe into a digital RS485 signal with MODBUS-RTU protocol, ready for connection to PLCs, data loggers or PC interfaces.

Two selectable measuring ranges support different installation needs: 0...10,000 lux with 1 lux resolution for standard indoor measurements, or 0...150,000 lux with 10 lux resolution when a wider range is required. The transmitter also allows sensitivity setting when the connected LPPHOT01 probe is replaced.

Designed for wall mounting, the transmitter uses screw terminals accessible under the top cover and operates from a 5...30 Vdc power supply. The IP66 housing, 80 x 84 x 44 mm dimensions and -30...+70 °C operating range support permanent installations in controlled monitoring networks.

Features

Probe signal conversion

The transmitter converts the analog mV signal generated by the LPPHOT01 illumination probe into an RS485 MODBUS-RTU output.

MODBUS registers

Measured illuminance, status, average illuminance and input signal value can be read with function code 04h.

Range configuration

The low range is preset as default. The high range can be selected when a higher illuminance range is required.

Sensitivity setting

The probe sensitivity value can be set in µV/klux when replacing the connected LPPHOT01 probe.

Electrical terminals

Screw terminals provide connections for power supply, RS485 B/+, RS485 A/-, mV input and probe cable shield.

RS485 network

The transmitter has a 1 Unit Load, non-isolated RS485 output and supports bus networks with line termination at both ends.
