Capacitive level transmitter and switch for oil

LCC1

Capacitive level transmitter and switch for oil sump monitoring in flat containers, with 30 mm metering range, \pm1.5 mm accuracy, 0..10 V or 4..20 mA output, push-pull switching output and IP67 protection.

Introduction

Oil sumps, compressors and gearboxes often work with heavily moving oil surfaces. This capacitive level transmitter and switch is developed for flat containers with disturbed fill levels, using a programmable filter to calculate a running average and reduce output signal variations without negatively affecting accuracy.

The reference structure at the end of the sensor recognizes different oils with different viscosity and temperature behavior without recalibration. This helps simplify setup when oil types change, while the no-moving-parts design supports dependable operation in compact installations. The standard metering range is 30 mm, with \pm1.5 mm accuracy, \pm1 mm repeatability and PN 5 bar pressure resistance.

The device combines analog level measurement with switching and optional temperature monitoring. It provides 0..10 V or 4..20 mA analog output, a short-circuit-resistant push-pull switching output and IP67 protection. Parameters, switching point and hysteresis can be programmed for application-specific adaptation.

Features

Capacitive measurement

The sensor monitors oil level in flat containers such as compressors, engine oil sumps and gearboxes using a capacitive measuring principle.

Reference structure

A reference structure at the sensor end detects oils with different viscosity and temperature behavior without requiring recalibration.

Programmable parameters

Parameters can be set to adapt the device to the application, including switching point, hysteresis, offset and analog full scale.

Switching behavior

Minimum-switch and maximum-switch functions are available. Switching delay, switchback delay and Power-On-Delay can be specified as options.

Status indication

A yellow LED shows operating status from four sides, including oil within range, low level warning, alarm state, fault or programming mode.

Electrical connection

The device uses an 18...30 V DC supply and an M12x1 4-pole round plug connector. The push-pull output can be wired as PNP or NPN.

Mechanical versions

Bracket form is used for side mounting, while the straight shape is used for installation from above. Mechanical connections include flange or G 1" thread.
