2-axis ultrasonic anemometer for high-range wind monitoring

HD51.3D

Ultrasonic anemometer for high-range wind monitoring, measuring speed up to 85 m/s, direction, U-V components and gusts, with RS232, RS485, RS422, analog outputs and optional meteo sensors.

Introduction

Reliable wind data is critical where maintenance access is difficult and conditions change fast. HD51.3D ultrasonic anemometers measure wind speed, direction, U-V Cartesian components and Wind Gust values without moving parts, reducing wear while keeping response stable in demanding installations.

The series is built for meteorological stations, wind farms, marine environments, airports, ports, bridges, buildings and mobile platforms. Technopolymer versions can integrate heating, barometric pressure, temperature, relative humidity and global solar radiation, while anodized aluminum alloy versions include enhanced heating and support operation from -50…+70 °C. Integration is flexible across monitoring and automation systems. Isolated RS232, RS485 and RS422 outputs support NMEA, Modbus-RTU and ASCII proprietary protocols, with two isolated analog outputs for wind speed and direction or U-V components. Optional compass and tilt detection compensate orientation and vertical misalignment, including on moving installations.

High wind range
Measures wind speed up to 85 m/s, with 0.01 m/s resolution.
Low maintenance
Ultrasonic measurement has no moving parts and all sensors are factory calibrated.
Harsh-site ready
IP66 housing and 90 m/s survival speed support demanding outdoor installations.
Mobile orientation
Compass and tilt option compensates North alignment and vertical misalignment.

Features

Wind parameters

The anemometer provides wind speed, wind direction, U-V Cartesian wind components, Wind Gust values and averaged wind speed and direction.

Housing versions

Models are available with technopolymer housing or anodized aluminum alloy housing with anti-corrosion coating. Aluminum alloy models include enhanced heating.

Meteorological options

Technopolymer versions can integrate barometric pressure, temperature, relative humidity and global solar radiation, depending on the model configuration.

Serial communication

Isolated RS232, RS485 and RS422 outputs support NMEA, Modbus-RTU and ASCII proprietary protocols, with configurable communication settings.

Analog outputs

Two isolated analog outputs are available for wind speed and direction or U-V Cartesian components. Standard output is 4…20 mA, with voltage options on request.

Heating function

Heated versions use a 24 Vdc ± 10% heater supply. Heating is switched on below +5 °C and switched off when temperature exceeds +15 °C.
