Pulse signals from sensors and switching devices often need a stable analog value before they can be used in a control system. FT500 converts an impulse frequency range into proportional industry standard signals, supporting direct connection of proximity switches, switching contacts, light barriers and Namur proximity switches.
The measuring range is highly adaptable, from 0..0.01 Hz up to 20 kHz. Start and end values are programmed with rotary switches, and the output characteristic can be set as increasing or decreasing. If the start and end value are identical, the device can also operate in limiting value mode, where the output changes state when the frequency exceeds the setpoint.
For cabinet integration, FT500 provides simultaneous 0/4..20 mA and 0/2..10 V DC outputs with full 3-port isolation. A short-circuit-proof approx. 20 V DC transmitter supply is integrated, while the 22.5 mm polycarbonate DIN rail case offers IP30 housing protection and IP20 terminals.
Five rotary switches set the measuring range, including start value, end value and multiplier.
The output can be configured for increasing or decreasing behavior across the selected frequency range.
If start and end values are set identically, the output jumps from minimum to maximum when the setpoint is exceeded.
The device can test minimum and maximum output values without an input signal using the simulation setting.
Terminal 1 provides approx. 20 V DC for connected transmitters, with short-circuit current of approx. 25 mA.
The device is available for 85..265 V AC or 10..30 V AC/DC supply voltage.
