Flow measurement in conductive media becomes easier to maintain when the measuring probe can stay accessible without opening the process. FIS measures the local flow velocity of conductive, largely homogeneous liquids, pastes and sludges, including media with solids content, using a magnetic-inductive measuring principle.
One probe covers a wide pipe range: installation is possible with welded sleeves for DN 50...DN 400 or with a plastic mounting clamp for DN 50...DN 150. The measuring end value is factory-set from 1...8 m/s in 1 m/s steps, giving users a defined output range for their application. A passive 4..20 mA output transfers the measured velocity to the control system.
The complete measuring probe can be withdrawn without creating an opening to the medium. This reduces service effort and supports safer maintenance, as only the electronics section needs replacement in case of a defect. Stainless steel and ceramic materials support use with demanding media, while ingress protection up to IP 67 is available with the round connector version.
