Flow switch for liquid media monitoring

EFK2

Flow switch for liquid media monitoring, measuring water flow velocity at 2..150 cm/s or 3..300 cm/s with calorimetric sensing, adjustable switching point, LED status display and relay or push-pull output.

Introduction

Tight pipe layouts and demanding installation points need flow monitoring that fits the space without adding mechanical complexity. This compact flow switch monitors the flow velocity of liquid media with a calorimetric measuring principle and works without moving parts in the monitored medium.

The switching point is set directly via potentiometer, while the red/green LED shows whether the flow is below or above the limit value. For system integration, the device offers either a galvanically isolated relay contact or a short-circuit-proof, reverse-polarity-protected push-pull transistor output.

Different process connections support flexible mounting, including G 1/4 A...G 1/2 A screw-in versions and Ø12 mm insertion sensors. With IP65 protection, wetted parts made from 1.4571 stainless steel and pressure resistance of PN 100 bar as standard, the EFK2 is well suited for robust flow monitoring in liquid-media applications.

Features

Calorimetric measuring principle

The sensor monitors the flow velocity of liquid media using a calorimetric measuring principle, with water measuring ranges of 2...150 cm/s or 3...300 cm/s.

Process connections

Versions are available with G 1/4 A...G 1/2 A screw-in threads or as Ø12 mm insertion sensors for installation in compatible system fittings.

Switching point adjustment

The switching point is adjusted by potentiometer. During setup, the flow is brought to the limit value and the LED change from red to green indicates the switching point.

Switching outputs

The device is available with a galvanically isolated relay contact or a transistor push-pull output. Push-pull outputs configure themselves depending on PNP or NPN wiring.

Electrical connection

Electrical connection is made via a 4-pin M12x1 circular connector. The supply voltage is 24 V DC / AC ±10 %.

Operating conditions

The sensor is designed for media temperatures from 0...+70 °C and ambient temperatures from -20...+70 °C, with a stated response time of 1...3 seconds in water.

Materials

Wetted parts are made from stainless steel 1.4571. Non-wetted parts are made from 1.4305.
