AC current transmitter CT 500

CT500

AC current transmitter for AC current measurement up to 60 A AC, with true r.m.s. conversion, 12 selectable measuring ranges, 40..2000 Hz frequency range and 0/4..20 mA or 0/2..10 V DC outputs.

Introduction

Reliable current monitoring in control cabinets starts with a transmitter that handles real-world waveforms, not only ideal sine waves. CT500 converts true r.m.s. AC current values into standard process signals, making it suitable for detecting load current from frequency converters and similar process control tasks.

The device gives engineers flexibility during commissioning: 12 measuring ranges are selectable for terminal or bushing connection, covering 0..1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 A AC and 0..10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 A AC. Start value and end value adjustment help adapt the output to the application, while selectable averaging supports smoother signal behavior where required.

For integration into existing automation systems, CT500 provides selectable 0/4..20 mA and 0/2..10 V DC outputs. The compact polycarbonate DIN rail case mounts on TS35 rails, with IP30 housing protection and IP20 finger-safe terminals for standard control cabinet installation.

Features

Selectable measuring ranges

The front controls allow range selection for terminal connection up to 6 A AC or bushing connection up to 60 A AC.

Input connection types

Terminal input is used for lower current ranges, while the bushing connection accepts a load wire with up to 8 mm cable diameter.

Output configuration

Current and voltage outputs are switch selectable, with 0/4..20 mA and 0/2..10 V DC available for process control systems.

Signal adjustment

The start value is adjustable by ± 5 % and the end value by ± 35 % to match the required output scaling.

Averaging function

A selectable average function is available for applications that require slower response behavior.

Power supply options

The device is available with 85..265 V AC or 10..30 V AC/DC supply voltage, depending on the ordered version.
