Conductivity transmitter for liquids, RS485 Modbus-RTU

Conducont LP4SL

Conductivity transmitter for liquid monitoring from 1…50,000 µS/cm with Pt1000 temperature measurement, 4-pole graphite electrodes, RS485 Modbus-RTU output and ingress protection (IP68).

Introduction

Reliable conductivity measurement in narrow wells, bore holes and demanding liquid applications needs a compact sensor that keeps working when conditions are not gentle. Conducont LP4SL monitors conductivity and temperature continuously in fresh water, wastewater and salt water, with a slim D22mm design for confined installation points.

The 4-electrode graphite measuring cell supports temperature-compensated conductivity measurement from 1…50,000 µS/cm, even with dirty liquids. An integrated Pt1000 sensor provides temperature measurement from -20…+70°C, giving operators both the compensated conductivity value and the measured temperature through the digital interface.

For long-term use in harsh environments, the transmitter combines a stainless steel housing with a thick-walled extension cable and steel core. Ingress protection (IP68) supports immersion up to 50m/5bar, while RS485 Modbus-RTU communication, 6…35VDC supply and integrated overvoltage protection simplify integration into monitoring and control systems.

Features

4-electrode conductivity cell

The conductive graphite measuring cell records conductivity as a temperature-compensated primary value and as a non-compensated value.

Integrated temperature sensing

A Pt1000 sensor according to IEC 60751 measures the liquid temperature and makes the value available through the digital interface.

RS485 Modbus-RTU interface

The transmitter communicates via a bidirectional RS485 interface with Modbus-RTU protocol. The default baud rate is 9600 Baud, with configurable settings from 4800…38400 Baud.

Slim immersion design

The D22mm sensor construction is intended for confined installation points such as bore holes and wells with small diameters.

Robust cable construction

The longitudinal carrying cable includes a steel core and shielding braid. Available cable sheath materials include PE and PUR.

Configurable operation

Parameterization and operation are carried out through the integrated wired interface, including settings for address, baud rate, units, damping and offsets.
