Accurate Pt100 temperature signals become easier to use in control and evaluation systems when they are linearized directly at the measuring point. Transcont KTM / ExKTM converts Pt100 signals from -100°C to +600°C into standard 4…20mA or 0…10V outputs, with measuring spans up to 700 Kelvin.
The transmitter supports Pt100 sensors in 2- or 3-wire connection. For higher measurement quality, the 3-wire connection can eliminate the influence of lead resistance. Sensor breakage and short circuit supervision add clear fault behavior at the output, with defined values such as 21.7 mA or 10.85 V for wire break.
Installation is compact and practical in a connection head style B according to DIN 43729 or in a field housing. The family offers 12 standard measuring ranges or customer-specific adjustment, while the ExKTM version adds ATEX II 1 G Ex ia IIC T4 certification for use in explosion hazardous areas.
The transmitter connects to Pt100 temperature resistors in 2- or 3-wire technology and uses a constant measuring current.
The measured Pt100 voltage signal is linearized and converted into a 4…20mA current signal or 0…10V voltage signal.
