Harsh gas-temperature points need a sensor that reacts quickly and fits safety-related systems without adding uncertainty. This safety thermocouple sensor measures exhaust gas and air and is certified as a sensor for STL50 safety temperature limiters in gaseous media, according to SIL 2 (DIN EN 61508) and DIN EN 14597.
The double-thermocouple design uses 2 x isolated thermocouples in type J, K or N, allowing the sensor to match different temperature requirements up to the maximum operating temperature of the selected thermocouple. A typical T63.2% step-response time of 20 s in exhaust gas and 22 s in air supports responsive temperature monitoring.
Designed for demanding process installation, the sensor combines a 25 bar process pressure rating with an Inconel 600 protection tube reduced from 9 mm to 3 mm. The BSZ aluminum terminal head with snap-lid provides ingress protection (IP) IP65, while the slide-able G ½ B clamping sleeve supports flexible installation lengths.
The sensor uses 2 x isolated thermocouples and can be ordered with type J, K or N elements.
Type J covers -100..+600 °C, while type K and type N cover -100..+800 °C.
The protection tube is made from Inconel 600 W-No. 2.4816 and is reduced from 9 mm to 3 mm diameter.
Standard installation lengths are 100 mm, 160 mm, 250 mm, 400 mm and 600 mm, with custom length on request.
The process connection uses a slide-able G ½ B clamping sleeve.
The BSZ aluminum terminal head includes a snap-lid and temperature equalization.
