Flow Measuring Probe with Snap-On Head

STS 005

Liquids (water), Flow measuring probes for velocity measurement in water or air, covering 0.05 ... 5.00 m/s for water with STS 005 and 0.55 ... 20.00 m/s for air with STS 020, with exchangeable snap-on head and 5 m Mini-DIN cable.

Introduction

Reliable flow checks in water and air need a probe that is easy to position, simple to service and matched to the medium. The STS 0xx family gives users two focused options: STS 005 for water velocity from 0.05 ... 5.00 m/s and STS 020 for air velocity from 0.55 ... 20.00 m/s.

The windmill-type anemometer design supports practical measurements with a permissible angle flow of ±20° without additional measuring faults. For clear on-site readings, the probes connect to GMH 3330 or GMH 3350 handheld instruments via a 5 m cable with 6-pin Mini-DIN plug.

Maintenance stays straightforward because the snap-on measuring head is exchangeable. If the rotating impeller is damaged, the head can be replaced with the matching STE 005 or STE 020 spare head. With a Ø 11 x 15 mm probe head, Ø 15 mm tube and 165 mm overall length, the probes fit compact measurement points while retaining the insertion opening required for reliable operation.

Medium-specific use
Choose STS 005 for water or STS 020 for air, each with its own calibrated measuring range.
Practical accuracy
Read velocity with ±3% of measured value and ±1% of measuring range at 25 °C.
Easy servicing
Exchange the snap-on head with STE 005 or STE 020 if the impeller is damaged.
Stable positioning
±20° permissible angle flow allows measurements without additional measuring faults.

Features

Windmill-type measurement

The probes use a windmill-type anemometer principle for velocity measurement in flowing water or air, depending on the selected model.

Handheld instrument connection

A GMH 3330 or GMH 3350 handheld instrument is required to display measured values from the probe.

Exchangeable sensor head

The measuring head is a snap-on component and can be removed in axial direction for replacement with the matching spare head.

Cable and plug

Each probe has an approx. 5 m connection cable with a 6-pin Mini-DIN plug for connection to compatible GMH handheld instruments.

Probe dimensions

The probe head measures Ø 11 x 15 mm, with a Ø 15 mm tube, 165 mm overall length and Ø 16 mm required insertion opening.

Operating conditions

The probes are specified for use from 0 ... +70 °C and 0 ... 100 %RH, with storage temperature from -20 ... +85 °C.
