Accurate rainfall data starts with a stable mechanical design and clean water flow. The RTD series uses a calibrated tipping bucket mechanism: rain collected by the aluminum funnel fills the bucket, triggers a tip at the preset volume, then generates a pulse for a data logger or counter.
The series is designed according to WMO-No. 8 recommendations and built from corrosion-resistant materials for long outdoor service. Choose 200 cm2 or 400 cm2 collecting area, 0.1, 0.2 or 0.5 mm/tip resolution and the output that fits your station architecture, from voltage-free NC contact to RS485, SDI-12, MOSFET Open Drain, 4…20 mA or 0…10 V.
Heated versions support operation down to -25 °C and activate around +4 °C to help prevent snow deposits and ice formation. A removable filter, non-stick collector cone, integrated bubble level and mast mounting on Ø40…60 mm supports faster installation and simpler maintenance in meteorological and environmental monitoring networks.
The collector cone channels rain into a calibrated bucket, which tips at the preset volume and generates an electrical pulse.
Models are available with 200 cm2 or 400 cm2 collecting area and nominal resolution of 0.1, 0.2 or 0.5 mm/tip.
Digital versions provide RS485, with SDI-12 and MOSFET Open Drain available on RTD…Fx models.
RTD…Dx provides 4…20 mA, while RTD…Vx provides 0…10 V. Alternative 0…20 mA or 2…10 V settings are configurable.
Digital and analog models store correction curves in the rain gauge and apply automatic correction according to rainfall rate.
Heated versions use 24 Vdc ± 10% supply. Digital and analog models use PID control; contact-output models use ON/OFF control.
Built-in sensors monitor pressure, temperature, relative humidity and tilt for environmental and instrument condition checks.
The rain gauge mounts on a Ø40…60 mm mast and includes a bubble level for aligning the tipping mechanism.
