Universal transmitter for resistance and potentiometer signals

PMT50-2

Universal transmitter for resistance and potentiometer signals, converting 0..100 kΩ resistance or 1 kΩ..100 kΩ potentiometer inputs to isolated 0/4..20 mA or 0/2..10 V DC outputs.

Introduction

Resistance and potentiometer signals often need conditioning before they can be used reliably in automation systems. PMT50-2 converts 0..100 kΩ resistance inputs and 1 kΩ..100 kΩ potentiometer signals into isolated standard analog outputs for control and monitoring tasks.

The programmable measuring range helps adapt the transmitter to the connected sensor, while 32 base-points allow linearization or output characteristic transformation for non-linear signal behavior. Teach In and simulator functions support commissioning when the input signal is unknown or needs to be checked.

For process supervision, PMT50-2 provides automatic broken-line detection in the measuring circuit and programmable fault behavior for the analog output. A graphic LCD with white backlight, front buttons and optional relay alarm outputs make setup and diagnostics practical in the control cabinet.

Features

Resistance input

PMT50-2 measures resistance in the range 0..100 kΩ. Broken-line detection is available for the measuring circuit.

Potentiometer input

Potentiometers from 1 kΩ to 100 kΩ can be connected. The signal is processed according to the programmed measuring range.

Analog output

The isolated analog output provides 0/4..20 mA with burden ≤500 Ω or 0/2..10 V with burden >500 Ω. Output selection changes automatically depending on burden.

Characteristic programming

Linear or non-linear characteristic curves can be programmed with up to 32 value pairs for input and display/output behavior.

Alarm output options

Up to 4 relay SPDT alarm outputs are available for monitoring. Alarm relays can be programmed for min. or max. function.

DIN rail housing

The PA 6.6 UL94V-0 case mounts on TS35 DIN rails, weighs approx. 450 g and uses screw terminals for 0.14..2.5 mm² wires.
