Turbine flow transmitter

OMNIPLUS-RT

Flow transmitter with turbine flow measurement for low-viscosity media, high compressive strength PN250, no magnets in the flow chamber, and measurement uncertainty of 1 % F.S.

Introduction

Low-viscosity liquids need fast, dependable flow measurement without unnecessary mechanical complexity in the flow path. This transmitter family measures water and other low-viscosity liquids from 1.8 ... 1133 l/min, with measuring ranges specified for 1 ... 5 mm²/s media.

The turbine principle links rotor speed directly to the flow rate. A biased Hall sensor detects the rotor from outside the flow chamber, with no magnets in the flow path. 1 % full-scale accuracy, PN 250 pressure resistance and a maximum pressure loss of 0.9 bar at Qmax support reliable use in demanding industrial systems.

Integration is handled through one configurable analog output, two switching outputs and IO-Link V1.1. The graphical LCD provides local readings and alarm indication, while stainless steel wetted parts and IP65/IP67 protection make the family suitable for robust process and automation applications.

Features

Turbine measuring principle

The transmitter uses a turbine driven by the flowing medium. Rotor speed is linear to the flow rate and is detected by a biased Hall sensor outside the flow chamber.

Nominal sizes and ranges

The product family covers DN15 ... DN50 with measuring ranges from 1.8 ... 18 l/min up to 113.3 ... 1133 l/min for media from 1 ... 5 mm²/s.

Mechanical connection

The devices use external threads from G 1/2 B to G 2 B, depending on nominal size and measuring range.

Analog output

The analog output can be configured for current or voltage, including 4 ... 20 mA, 0 ... 20 mA, 0 ... 10 V, 2 ... 10 V, 0 ... 5 V, 1 ... 5 V and 0.5 ... 4.5 V.

Switching outputs

Two push-pull transistor outputs can be set as limit switches, frequency outputs, pulse outputs or outputs for the preset counter.

IO-Link communication

The device supports IO-Link V1.1 with COM2 transmission, SIO mode, block parameterization and data storage.

Display and alarm indication

The graphical 1.2 inch LCD has 128 x 64 pixels and uses white backlighting in normal operation and red backlighting for alarm messages.

Wetted materials

Wetted parts include an AISI 316 stainless steel housing, AISI 430 stainless steel turbine and tungsten carbide bearings.
