Level switch for ATEX hazardous-area tank control (Buna)

MULTIPOINT O - ATEX I

Level switch for hazardous-area tank control, certified CESI 03 ATEX 265 Ext.2, with up to 6 switch points, 6 m length, 20 bar working pressure and minimum IP65 protection.

Introduction

Hazardous-area tanks need level switching that can be trusted where flammable products are treated. This intrinsically safe instrument is used to control liquids or fuel in underground and outdoor tanks, with certification to CESI 03 ATEX 265 Ext.2 II 1G Exia IIC T4/T5/T6 Ga and II 1/2G Exia IIC T4/T5/T6 Ga/Gb.

The Brass, Spansil and stainless steel rod construction supports practical level control with up to 6 switch points on one measuring rod. Lengths are available up to 6 m, while maximum working pressure reaches 20 bar depending on the selected float. Standard working temperature is up to 100°C, with executions up to 120°C available on request.

Integration is supported by several electrical output options, including IP65 housings, an IP66/67 housing, DIN43650 plug, cable outputs and cable glands up to IP68. Exia level controls must be connected to active or passive barriers according to EN 50020.

Features

Float selection

Spansil float options are available in several sizes, with defined specific gravity, contact type, pressure rating and temperature class.

Process connections

Internal and external installation are supported with threaded and flanged connections. Thread options include UNI 228/1, UNI 7/1 and NPT.

Electrical outputs

Output options include IP65 housings, an IP66/67 housing, DIN43650 plug, cable connections and IP68 or IP67 cable glands.

Electrical contact ratings

Contact versions include SPST and SPDT types with specified AC and DC voltage, current and power ratings.

Wiring configurations

Contacts can be wired independently, with a common connection or according to request. NO, NC and SPDT contact status options are listed.

Switch point definition

Switch points L1 \div L6 are measured from the stop of the fitting or flange connection, with general tolerances of +/- 3 mm.

Safety barrier note

All Exia level controls must be electrically connected to active or passive barriers according to EN 50020.
