Oil containers with heavily moving surfaces can be difficult to monitor cleanly, especially in compressors, engine oil sumps and gearboxes. This capacitive level transmitter and switch is developed for those conditions, using no moving parts and a programmable filter that calculates the running average to reduce output fluctuations without affecting accuracy.
The measuring principle compares the oil level with a reference structure at the end of the probe. This allows correct level detection after oil changes, including different viscosity, temperature behavior or oil ageing, without recalibration. Metering ranges of 200, 400 and 600 mm are available, with \pm1 % full scale measurement uncertainty and \pm1 mm reproducibility.
The device combines analog level measurement, switching and optional temperature monitoring in one compact sensor. It provides 0..10 V or 4..20 mA output, a short-circuit-resistant 100 mA push-pull switching output and IP67 protection. Parameters can be adjusted via a USB-compatible configurator or magnet clip, depending on the required setup.
The sensor monitors oil level in containers with heavily mobile oil surfaces, including compressors, engine oil sumps and gearboxes.
The device uses a G1 thread with two fastening nuts. A screw-on flange is available as an accessory and customer-specific flanges are possible on request.
Minimum-switch and maximum-switch versions are available. The switching output can be supplied in standard or inverted configuration.
Parameters can include filter time, analog range, switching delay, switchback delay, Power-On delay, fixed switching output, hysteresis and temperature monitoring.
A yellow LED is visible from four sides and indicates oil within range, low-level warning, alarm state, fault condition and switchpoint programming.
The device uses an 18..30 V DC supply and an M12x1 4-pole round plug connector. Shielded wiring is recommended.
The threaded version can be screwed directly into a G1" opening or fastened in a 34 mm hole using the supplied nuts. Flange mounting requires a suitable sealing surface.
