Flow transmitter for low-viscosity liquids, dynamic orifice

LABOPLUS-XF

Flow transmitter for liquid flow monitoring in water and other low-viscosity non-aggressive liquids, covering 0.4...100 l/min with IO-Link, analog output, switch output and IP65 / IP67 protection.

Introduction

Compact liquid flow monitoring is easier when the sensor reacts quickly and creates only a small load on the system. This transmitter family measures water and other low-viscosity, non-aggressive liquids with a dynamic orifice principle, covering standard ranges from 1...100 l/min and a low-flow range from 0.4...6.0 l/min.

A thin spring-loaded stainless-steel orifice spans the full flow cross-section and deflects with the moving liquid. The integrated electronics convert the detected position into usable process signals, with \pm3 % of measured value accuracy and a maximum pressure loss of 0.5 bar. The 1:100 measuring range dynamic supports broad flow variation in compact installations.

The family adapts to different system requirements through plastic or all-metal versions. Plastic bodies support PN 16, while all-metal versions reach PN 100 and can be specified for media temperatures up to +110 °C. IO-Link, selectable analog output and a configurable push-pull output make integration practical in control and monitoring systems.

Features

Dynamic orifice principle

A spring-loaded stainless-steel orifice covers the flow cross-section and deflects against a curved stop as liquid flows through the device.

Magnetic position detection

A plastic-encapsulated magnet on the orifice changes its magnetic field during deflection. A sensor outside the flow chamber detects this change.

Liquid media

The transmitter is designed for water and other low-viscosity, non-aggressive liquids in nominal diameters from DN 8...DN 25.

Process connections

Standard versions use G1/4...G1 internal threads. Male threads, hose nozzles and further connection types are available as options or on request.

Body and seal variants

The body is available in PPS, nickel-plated CW614N or stainless steel 1.4404, with FKM seals as standard and EPDM or NBR alternatives.

Reverse-flow resistance option

For applications with reverse flow or pressure shocks, a stainless-steel stop can replace the plastic support ring. Reverse measurement is not possible.

Low-flow option

For measuring ranges up to 6 l/min, the sensor arrangement can be adapted to measure from 0.4 l/min. This option is not available for metal bodies.

Electrical connection

Connection is made via a 4-pin M12x1 circular connector. The supply voltage is 18...30 V DC.
