Flow transmitter for viscous liquids and oil monitoring

LABOPLUS-VHS

Flow transmitter for viscous liquid monitoring, measuring oil and other lubricating fluids from 1.4...1500 l/min with screw volumeter technology, IO-Link and configurable analog or switching outputs.

Introduction

Viscous liquids need flow measurement that stays dependable even when the medium is thick, lubricating or changing in behavior. This transmitter family measures oil and other non-aggressive, lubricating fluids with a screw volumeter principle, covering flow ranges from 1.4...1500 l/min and viscosities up to 40,000 mm²/s (cSt).

The volumetric measuring method gives the device low viscosity dependence. Two intermeshing measuring screws rotate with the flowing medium, while a sensor outside the flow chamber detects the screw flanks and generates a flow-proportional frequency signal. With no magnets in the flow chamber and bidirectional operation, it is well suited to industrial oil and lubrication circuits where flow direction also matters.

Installation and system integration stay flexible. No inlet or outlet sections are required, the connections are pluggable and rotatable, and IO-Link enables digital configuration and measured value readout. Analog output and a configurable push-pull output support conventional control systems, while IP65 / IP67 protection supports use in industrial environments.

Features

Screw volumeter principle

Two intermeshing measuring screws rotate in opposite directions as the medium flows through the device.

External sensor detection

A sensor positioned outside the flow chamber detects the screw flanks and generates a flow-proportional frequency signal.

Directional totalizer

The integrated totalizer operates according to flow direction and counts up or down as required.

Output configuration

The electronics provide selectable current or voltage analog outputs and a push-pull transistor output with configurable functions.

IO-Link communication

IO-Link Revision V1.1.3 supports digital configuration and measured value readout, with COM2 and a 20 ms minimum cycle time.

Mechanical construction

The device body is aluminum. Connections are available in aluminum or steel, with steel measuring screws and FKM seals.

Connection variants

The family covers DN 25...DN 50 with G 1...G 2 internal threads. SAE flanges are available as accessories.

Electrical connection

Connection is made via a 4-pin M12x1 circular connector with 18...30 V DC supply.
