4G data logger for Modbus weather station networks

HD33M-MB.4

4G data logger for weather station networks with RS485 Modbus-RTU sensors and rain gauge input. It records up to 424,000 samples, sends data by e-mail, FTP or HTTP server, and uses an ingress protection (IP67) housing.

Introduction

nattended weather stations need data that reaches the user, not a logger that has to be collected in the field. With integrated 4G/3G/GSM(2G)/GPRS transmission, this logger sends measurements by e-mail, FTP or HTTP server and supports remote control through SMS commands or TCP/IP connection.

Built for expandable sensor networks, it connects RS485 Modbus-RTU slave sensors as a Master and adds a voltage-free contact input for a rain gauge. Depending on the connected sensors, it can monitor temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, solar radiation, wind speed and direction, and rainfall quantity. Measuring and logging intervals from 1 s to 1 hour help match the recording strategy to the site.

The compact polycarbonate enclosure supports outdoor installation with ingress protection (IP67). A 7…30 Vdc supply, low current draw below 3 mA during measurement without cellular activity, and switched sensor power support mains-based or solar-powered systems.

Remote data access
Sends measurements by e-mail, FTP or HTTP server via 4G/3G/GSM(2G)/GPRS.
Scalable networks
RS485 Modbus-RTU Master connects multiple slave sensors in the field.
Rainfall ready
Contact input supports a rain gauge and calculates rainfall rate and daily rainfall.
Outdoor housing
Polycarbonate enclosure with ingress protection (IP67) for exposed installations.
Low field power
Draws < 3 mA during measurement without cellular activity and runs on 7…30 Vdc.

Features

RS485 Modbus-RTU input

The logger operates as Master for connected Modbus-RTU slave sensors. A proprietary protocol can also be used with the HD2003 anemometer.

Rain gauge contact input

A voltage-free contact input connects a rain gauge. The contact can be configured as normally closed or normally open.

Rainfall calculations

The device calculates rainfall rate in mm/h and the rainfall amount in the last day, with a configurable compensation curve based on rainfall rate.

Data logging memory

Internal memory supports circular management or stop logging when full, with 120,000 to 424,000 samples depending on detected quantities.

Alarm management

Each detected quantity can use high and low alarm thresholds with configurable hysteresis and delay. Alarms can trigger the internal buzzer, e-mail or SMS.

Sensor power output

A switched power supply output energizes external sensors only when measurements must be detected.

PC software

HD35AP-S software configures measurements, alarms, logging and transmission intervals, displays real-time values and downloads data to a database.

Optional CFR21 software

HD35AP-CFR21 adds functions aligned with FDA 21 CFR part 11 recommendations, including audit trail and controlled user access.
