High-quality wind data becomes much easier to manage when one instrument covers the core anemometric quantities and the supporting environmental context. HD2003 is a 3-axis ultrasonic anemometer that measures wind speed and direction, U-V-W Cartesian components, wind gust, sound speed and sonic temperature, and also measures air temperature, relative humidity and barometric pressure.
Designed for continuous outdoor operation, the ultrasonic principle avoids moving parts and maintains accuracy across changing conditions. Wind speed and direction are derived from the transit time of ultrasonic pulses, a method that cancels dependence on pressure, temperature and humidity. A built-in compass with magnetic azimuth supports automatic alignment to magnetic North, while moving averages can be set from 1...60 s or 1...60 min to match your logging and control strategy.
Integration flexibility is a core strength. The instrument offers five digital communication interfaces (RS232, RS422 on request, RS485 Modbus-RTU, RS485 Multidrop and AoXnd) and up to 5 analog outputs in current or voltage, with an option for up to 12 extended analog outputs via external modules. For cold-weather sites, HD2003R adds integrated heating of the sonic transducers to prevent ice and snow formation.

Wind speed range is 0...70 m/s with 0.01 m/s resolution and ±1% of reading accuracy.
Wind direction includes azimuth 0...360° and elevation ±60°, with 0.1° resolution and ±1° accuracy.
5 analog outputs are configurable as 0...20 mA, 4...20 mA, 0...1 V, 0...5 V, 0...10 V or 1...5 V at up to 14-bit resolution.
Supports RS232, RS485 Modbus-RTU, RS485 Multidrop and AoXnd, with RS422 full-duplex available on request.
Output rate can be set from 1...3600 s in normal mode, with a fixed 50 Hz digital high-frequency mode available.
