Wind monitoring in exposed sites needs stable data without frequent service visits. This 3-axis ultrasonic anemometer measures wind speed and direction, U-V-W Cartesian components and Wind Gust values with no moving parts, reducing maintenance effort in weather stations, wind farms, ports, airports, bridges, buildings and tunnels.
Reliable operation is supported by a 0…85 m/s wind speed measuring range, 0…360° azimuth and ± 60° elevation measurement. Integrated heating helps prevent snow and ice accumulation in the detection area, while the AISI 316 housing and ingress protection (IP) 67 rating support use in aggressive atmospheres, including marine environments.
Integration is flexible across environmental monitoring and automation systems. Isolated RS232, RS485, RS422 and SDI-12 outputs, NMEA, Modbus-RTU, SDI-12 and ASCII proprietary protocols, plus three isolated analog outputs allow the anemometer to fit into new or existing measurement networks.
The instrument uses three pairs of ultrasonic transducers on orthogonal axes to determine wind intensity and direction.
It provides wind speed and direction, U-V-W Cartesian components, Wind Gust values, sonic temperature, barometric pressure and tilt angles.
Three isolated analog outputs can be assigned to wind speed and direction or to U-V-W speed components, depending on the selected setup.
Isolated RS232, RS485, RS422 and SDI-12 outputs support NMEA, Modbus-RTU, SDI-12 and ASCII proprietary protocols.
Integrated heating protects the detection area from snow and ice accumulation. Sensor support arm heating can be enabled or disabled.
The anemometer mounts on a mast with Ø 40 mm external and Ø 36 mm internal dimensions and connects via a 19-pole M23 male connector.
