Caged float level switch for side-mounted tank monitoring

CAGE S1/M2.CAL-D

Caged float level switch for side-mounted tank monitoring, with 1 or 2 SPDT contacts, AISI 316 float and stem, 55 mm center distance, 10 mm pipe unions, IP65 housing and 105 °C max temperature.

Introduction

Side-mounted tank level switching needs to be compact, accessible and dependable. This caged float level switch mounts externally to the tank and uses standard compression fittings, helping simplify installation where a direct side connection is required.

The design supports one or two electrical SPDT contact points, allowing configuration as S1 with one switch level point or M2 with two switch level points. Hermetic SPDT reed switches provide the electrical switching function, with contact ratings of 230V, 60W, 60VA and 1A.

Rugged construction supports low maintenance use in industrial tank applications. The standard cage is black anodized aluminum, with a stainless steel version available on request. The float and stem are AISI 316, the electrical housing is epoxy-painted aluminum with a PG9 polyamide cable gland, and the housing provides minimum ingress protection (IP) IP65.

Features

Caged float principle

The device uses a caged float construction for liquid level switching on the side of a tank.

Switch point variants

S1 provides one switch level point, while M2 provides two switch level points as shown in the wiring and dimension data.

Electrical contacts

The switch uses hermetic SPDT reed switches with independent wiring and contact status defined in no level condition.

Process connection

The basic process connection is a 1/4" UNI 228/1 female thread with side/side process connections and a 55 mm center distance.
