Switching functions in hazardous areas need a unit that fits the intrinsically safe concept of the installation. This switching unit is designed for the UR1 device series and comes with a Reed switch and ATEX approval BVS 03 ATEX E390 X for use in intrinsically safe circuits.
For commissioning and service, the switching point can be set by loosening the screws in the clamping piece, moving the switching tube to the required position, and tightening the screws again. The switching function can be defined as opener or closer according to the wiring diagram, which helps match the output behavior to your control logic.
Integration is intended for intrinsically safe circuits only. A suitable isolating switching amplifier must be provided, cable lengths are limited to max. 5 m, and the specified electrical values for voltage and current must not be exceeded. Versions are available with 2.5 m or 5 m cable length.
The switching unit uses a Reed switch for switching indication within the UR1 device series.
