AC voltage transmitter (trms)

VT500

AC voltage transmitter for true r.m.s. voltage measurement from 0 ... 100 to 0 ... 600 V AC, with selectable 0/4 ... 20 mA and 0/2 ... 10 V outputs, full 3-port isolation and DIN rail mounting.

Introduction

Reliable AC voltage monitoring in control systems starts with a signal that can be used directly. VT500 converts true r.m.s. voltage values from waveforms of any shape into proportional industrial standard signals, for example when detecting the load voltage of a frequency converter.

Six measuring ranges from 0 ... 100 to 0 ... 600 V AC are selected at the front panel, with the final value adjustable by ± 35 %. This makes the transmitter adaptable across the 65 ... 800 V range without gaps. Selectable 0/4 ... 20 mA and 0/2 ... 10 V outputs support straightforward integration into process control systems.

For safe, stable panel use, the device provides full 3-port isolation between input, output and supply. The 22.5 mm polycarbonate case mounts on TS35 DIN rail, while a power-on LED and front-panel switches make setup clear during commissioning.

Features

AC voltage input

The transmitter measures AC voltage in six switch-selectable ranges. Input resistance is 720 kΩ, and overload capability is specified up to 1200 V.

Range adjustment

The initial value is adjustable by ± 5 %, and the final value by ± 35 %. Range selection is made using the rotary switch on the front panel.

Analog outputs

Current output is selectable as 0/4 ... 20 mA. Voltage output is selectable as 0/2 ... 10 V DC and can operate simultaneously with the current output.

Averaging function

A switch-selectable slow averaging function is available for measured values that require smoothed output behavior.

Front-panel controls

Measuring range and output configuration are selected using a rotary switch and DIP switch on the front panel.

Supply options

The device is available with 85 ... 265 V AC or 10 ... 30 V AC/DC supply voltage, depending on the selected ordering variant.

Terminal cover accessory

For operation with input voltage above 400 V AC, terminal cover KA-VT is specified as an accessory.
