Soil temperature probe for environmental monitoring, measuring 6 or 7 soil levels from +5 cm to -1 m with Pt100 1/3 DIN sensors, RS485 Modbus-RTU output and IP68 protection.

Introduction

Accurate soil temperature profiles help you understand what is happening below the surface with confidence. This probe series measures temperature at defined soil depths with minimal invasiveness, supporting environmental monitoring, agriculture and geothermic studies where stable, depth-specific data matters.
 
Built around Pt100 1/3 DIN sensors, the probes deliver 0.01 °C resolution and ± 0.1 °C accuracy at 0 °C. Two configurations cover either 7 levels (+5 cm, 0, -5 cm, -10 cm, -20 cm, -50 cm, -1 m) or 6 levels (+5 cm, 0, -5 cm, -10 cm, -20 cm, -50 cm), giving users the right profile depth for their installation.
 
For reliable field use, the fiberglass tube provides impermeability and thermal insulation, with ingress protection (IP) 68 for harsh conditions. RS485 Modbus-RTU output supports long-distance data transmission, while the 6...30 Vdc power supply and M12 connector make integration into monitoring systems straightforward.

Features

Multi-level sensing

The series is available with 7 measuring levels on TP32MTT.03 or 6 measuring levels on TP32MTT.03.1 for soil thermal profile measurement.

Digital communication

RS485 output with Modbus-RTU protocol provides digital data transmission for connection to remote environmental monitoring systems.

Sensor configuration

Each measuring point uses a Pt100 1/3 DIN sensor, with 0.01 °C resolution and specified accuracy at 0 °C.

Mechanical construction

The probe uses a fiberglass tube, stainless steel tip and anodized aluminium alloy handle with stainless steel top end.

Electrical connection

An 8-pole M12 male connector provides cable connection, with optional cable lengths of 5 m or 10 m.

Installation guidance

The probe is inserted vertically into a prepared soil hole, aligned with the zero-level indicator and surrounded with finely powdered soil for contact.
