Conductive leakage electrode for floor-mounted leak monitoring

PUK

Conductive leakage electrode for leak monitoring of electrically conductive liquids from 1 µS/cm, for floor mounting in bunds, raised floors and cooling channels, with optional line break monitoring.

Introduction

Leaks in technical rooms or containment areas need to be detected before they turn into water damage or plant downtime. PUK monitors conductive liquids in areas such as bunds, raised floors, suspended ceilings, computer rooms and below cooling channels.

The electrode works with a suitable evaluation unit. As soon as a conductive medium forms a connection between the electrodes, a measurable current flows and the connected unit can trigger the required response. Conductivities from 1 µS/cm can be detected, including aggressive media, at medium temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C.

For reliable long-term use, the internally generated AC voltage helps reduce electrode corrosion and electrolytic decomposition of the medium. Stainless steel 1.4404/316L or 1.4571/316Ti electrodes, POM or PP housing materials and optional line break monitoring with Diodenmodul LBM support practical leak monitoring in industrial environments.

Features

Conductive detection principle

The electrode detects leakage when an electrically conductive medium forms a connection between the electrodes and creates a measurable current.

Evaluation unit connection

PUK is used with a suitable evaluation unit, which reacts to the measured current from the leakage electrode.

Floor mounting

The design is suitable for floor mounting in containment and technical areas where leaked conductive liquids can collect.

Electrode materials

Process-wetted electrodes are available in stainless steel 1.4404/316L or 1.4571/316Ti, with other materials listed as options.

Housing materials

Process-wetted housing materials include POM or PP, depending on the selected configuration.

Electrical connection

The PUK version offers a terminal compartment, 5 m silicone cable or other cable lengths as connection options.
