Ultracompact pressure transmitter for high-temperature processes

Precont PK4

Ultracompact pressure transmitter for gases, vapors, liquids and dusts, with 0…10 to 0…600 bar ranges, 4…20 mA with FSK, metal measuring membrane, ingress protection (IP69K/IP67) and ATEX/IECEx option.

Introduction

Tight installation spaces and demanding process conditions call for a pressure transmitter that stays compact without giving up performance. Precont® PK4 measures and monitors pressure in gases, vapors, liquids and dusts, with measuring ranges from 0…10 bar to 0…600 bar.

The dry DMS thin-film metal measuring cell delivers stable pressure values for medium to high pressures. A welded process membrane separates the process safely, while the 4…20 mA 2-wire output with FSK communication supports configuration and digital data exchange without interrupting the analog signal.

For hot and harsh environments, versions cover process temperatures up to +200 °C with a temperature decoupler. Ingress protection (IP69K/IP67), 500 g shock resistance, 20 g vibration resistance and ≥ 100 million pressure cycles support long-term use in industrial plants. ATEX/IECEx-certified versions are available for pressure measurement in hazardous areas.

Features

Pressure measurement

The sensor measures, monitors and controls pressure in gases, vapors, liquids and dusts.

Metal measuring cell

The device uses a DMS thin-film cell with a metal measuring membrane for medium to high pressure ranges.

Analog and digital output

The electronics provide a 4…20 mA 2-wire signal with FSK communication for configuration and data transfer.

Process connection

The standard process connection is ISO 228-1 G¼"A, ISO 1179-2 E, with stainless steel process connection material.

Seal options

Process seal options include FKM/FPM and EPDM, with temperature limits depending on the selected seal material.

Electrical connection

The device uses an M12-A-4P connector for compact electrical integration.

Approval option

An ATEX/IECEx version is available for pressure measurement in hazardous areas with intrinsically safe circuits.

Additional options

Options include TAG laser marking, drinking water suitability certificate, configuration or presetting and factory calibration certificate.
