Microwave level switch for hygienic limit detection

Mycrocont MCN4

Microwave level switch for hygienic limit detection in liquids and bulk solids. It detects media with εr>2, uses PEEK wetted parts, offers PNP, NPN or Push-Pull output and IP67 protection.

Introduction

Reliable limit detection matters when one sensor has to handle very different media in hygienic vessels. Mycrocont MCN4 monitors levels in liquids and bulk solids, including aqueous media, oils, honey, chocolate, emulsions, grain, sugar and milk powder.

The microwave switching principle supports media with εr>2 and allows the switching behavior to be adjusted to the product. With optional MCN SOFT and a USB programming adapter, users can recognize media differences and set the switching characteristics precisely for the application.

The hygienic G½" process connection and elastomer-free seal between measuring tip and sleeve support use in hygiene-related installations. PEEK process-wetted material, 316L housing parts, ingress protection (IP67) and process pressure up to 10 bar give the sensor a robust basis for everyday level and dry-run monitoring.

Features

Microwave limit detection

The sensor monitors limit levels in vessels using a microwave switching principle for liquids and bulk solids.

Media adjustment

Optional MCN SOFT allows parameterization via PC. It is used to recognize media differences and adjust the switching characteristics.

Hygienic process connection

The device uses a G½" hygienic process connection for installation with BEFH sleeves or compatible adapters.

Electrical connection

The sensor uses a 5-pole M12 connector with pins 2 and 5 prepared for data communication.

Operating conditions

The device is specified for process temperatures from 0 °C to 100 °C, with max. 130 °C for less than 1h at 40 °C ambient temperature.

Accessories

Available accessories include a USB programming adapter, Y-connection cable, BEFH weld-in sleeves, a closure adapter and HEM-10 adapter.
