Introduction

Multi-parameter measurement systems need one clear point for display, configuration and automation data. MULTICON evaluates up to 6 digital sensors with RS485 Modbus RTU, or 5 digital sensors plus one pulse-generating flow sensor, and presents the values on a 3.5" TFT color display.

The controller simplifies commissioning by automatically initializing configured digital sensors and supporting sensor replacement. Process values, diagnostic values, identification data and sensor status can be passed to higher automation levels via PROFINET IO, with integration through the provided GSDML device description file.

Configuration is handled directly at the device or via SENSware using the USB-C interface. The universal IP65 housing supports field or panel mounting, while the integrated 24 V DC sensor supply delivers up to 300 mA for connected sensors.

Features

Digital sensor interface

The RS485 interface uses Modbus RTU and supports linear bus architecture. Sensor types are assigned to channels to prevent mix-ups.

Flow sensor input

The frequency input supports pulse-generating flow meters in PNP and push-pull circuits. Flow setup includes K factor, refresh time and unit parameters.

PROFINET integration

The Ethernet interface provides PROFINET IO (RT) with 100Mb/s communication. Available values include process and diagnostic data.

USB-C configuration

MULTICON and connected sensors can be configured with SENSware via USB-C.

User profiles

Three access levels, Observer, Maintenance and Specialist, control parameter visibility, modification rights and executable actions.

Housing and connection

The 98 x 98 x 66 mm housing is made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide with polyester front foil. Connections use spring terminals and an M12x1 bus plug
