UVA radiometer for outdoor and indoor irradiance monitoring

LPUVA02

UVA radiometer for irradiance monitoring, measuring 0…200 W/m² over the UVA range with passive, 4...20 mA or 0...1 V, 0...5 V and 0...10 V output versions.

Introduction

UVA irradiance monitoring needs a sensor that captures the real radiation load on a flat surface. This UVA radiometer measures global irradiance in the UVA spectral range, combining direct solar irradiance and diffuse irradiance for outdoor monitoring. It can also be used to monitor indoor UVA emissions.

Measurement confidence starts with the optical design. The solid-state sensor uses a special filter for spectral matching, while the 50 mm dome protects the sensor from weather agents. Cosine-law response supports reliable global irradiance measurement even at low sun elevation, where the diffuse UVA component becomes more significant.

Integration is available for different measurement setups. The passive version connects to a millivoltmeter or data acquisition system, while active versions provide 4...20 mA or 0...1 V, 0...5 V or 0...10 V outputs across the 0…200 W/m² measuring range. Each radiometer is individually factory-calibrated and supplied with its own calibration factor.

Features

Solid-state sensor

The radiometer uses a solid-state sensor with a special filter to match the required UVA spectral response.

UVA spectral range

The sensor covers the UVA range with peak response at 365 nm and specified bandwidths at 1/2, 1/10 and 1/100 levels.

Passive version

LPUVA02 is a passive radiometer that connects to a millivoltmeter or data acquisition system without power supply.

Active output versions

LPUVA02AC provides 4...20 mA output, while LPUVA02AV provides voltage output defined when ordering.

Installation design

Fixing holes, a levelling device and optional mast brackets support horizontal installation for global radiation measurement.

Condensation control

A silica-gel cartridge in the dome chamber absorbs humidity to help prevent internal condensation.
