Reliable long-wave radiation data is essential in weather stations, climate monitoring and energy balance studies. This pyrgeometer measures far infrared radiation above 4.5 µm and supports downward or upward irradiance measurements, for example in combination with another pyrgeometer and an albedometer for full energy balance analysis.
Field use is supported by a robust design made for outdoor exposure. The IP 67 housing, anodized aluminum body, ASA shield and silicon window with scratch-resistant DLC coating help protect the sensitive measuring surface in demanding weather conditions. A silica-gel cartridge reduces internal humidity and helps prevent condensation on the window.
Integration is flexible across monitoring systems. The LPPIRG01 version provides a passive mV output without power supply, while LPPIRG01S offers RS485 Modbus-RTU with 5...30 Vdc supply. Factory calibration and a supplied calibration report support traceable measurement quality from the start.
The sensor uses a blackened thermopile surface and an integrated NTC for instrument temperature measurement.
