Introduction

Hazardous tank installations with plastic material requirements need level control that fits both the medium and the protection concept. This family is explosion-proof certified for hazardous areas where flammable products are treated, with certification listed as CESI 03 ATEX 272 Ext.2 II 1/2G Exdb IIB T5/T6 Ga/Gb.
 
The potentiometric measuring principle uses a magnetic float to gradually actuate a chain of resistors and reed contacts inside the measuring rod. With PVC, PP and PVDF versions, the sensor supports continuous level control for liquids or fuels inside underground or outdoor tanks.
 
The family offers 5 mm measuring resolution, potentiometric LC or 4-20mA LCT output, and lengths up to 5 m. Depending on configuration, versions cover maximum working pressures up to 6 Bar, standard working temperature up to 130°C and minimum ingress protection (IP) rating of IP67.

Built-in temperature sensor

For LC type only, a temperature sensor can be installed at the bottom of the rod on request, with PT100, PT1000, PTC or NTC options.

Blocking joint requirement

xd certified level controls must be connected by interposing the appropriate blocking joints according to EN 50018.
