Food liquid processes need level switching that fits the medium, the vessel and the cleaning routine. KLK detects one or two limit levels in electrically conductive liquids with conductivity from 5µS/cm or resistance up to 200k Ohm, supporting overflow protection, dry-run protection and two-point control in liquid containers and pipelines.
The probe is designed for food applications and supports hygienic process requirements with FDA listed ETFE electrode insulation and FDA listed EPDM process seals. It is suitable for process temperatures from -40 °C to +100 °C and pressures from -1 bar to +10 bar, with ingress protection (IP65) for demanding plant environments.
Installation can be matched to the control concept. KLK is available with universal 20...253VAC/DC supply and relay output, or with 24VDC supply and PNP switching output. Adjustable sensitivity allows the switching response to be set to the conductivity of the liquid.
The probe evaluates electrically conductive liquids in vessels or pipelines. Depending on the measuring system, it detects one or two limit levels with a common reference electrode.
Configurations include 1-rod, 2-rod and 3-rod designs for one limit value or two limit values. Electrode lengths can be specified up to 2500 mm.
KLK versions are available with DIN 11851 milk pipe connections in DN25 for 1-rod, DN40 for 2-rod and DN50 for 3-rod designs.
ISO 228-1 threaded connections are available as G ½" for 1-rod versions, G 1" for 2-rod versions and G 1½" for 3-rod versions.
Electrode rods are available in CrNi steel, Hastelloy C22, titanium or CrNi steel with a 50 mm tantalum tip. The process connection is made from CrNi steel.
Versions are available with terminal compartment or M12 x 1, A-coded, 4-pin connector for 24 V DC supply.
Connection housings are available in POM, PP, PTFE or CrNi steel, depending on the selected configuration.
